First official XNA 4.0 release of the Nuclex Framework, now including partial support for Windows Phone 7. All XNA 4.0 assemblies have been compiled targeting the .NET 4.0 Client Profile.
In this release, the deployment strategy has changed: the recommended way to use the Nuclex Framework assemblies in your project is now to reference the compiled DLLs. All assets have been embedded in the assemblies, eliminating the need to add the actual projects to your solution.
For XNA 3.1 development, either Visual C# 2008 Express or Visual Studio 2008, both with XNA Game Studio 3.1 are required.
For XNA 4.0 development, either Visual C# 2010 Express or Visual Studio 2010, both with XNA Game Studio 4.0 are required.
3rd party libraries needed to compile and run the source code are included, so everything will compile out of the box.To use Nuclex.Fonts.Content.TrueTypeImporter.dll in XNA 3.1, you need the Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Runtime (download 32 bits version, download 64 bits version) or Visual C++ 2008 SP1 installed
This only applies to compiling projects which use the content pipeline plugin. Your games will not depend on the Visual C++ runtime, neither on the PC nor on the XBox 360 or Windows Phone 7. XNA 4.0 users don't need to worry about this as XNA Game Studio 4.0 already installs the required Visual C++ runtime files.
